This project focused on enhancing both the functionality and safety of the home by constructing a legal, separate basement walk-up entrance.
The process began with precise excavation to create the well depth. Retaining walls were constructed using solid concrete blocks, followed by the forming and pouring of the reinforced concrete stairs and landing pad (as seen in the rebar and formwork photos). This structural work ensures long-term stability and water resistance.
Upon completion of the concrete work, a new insulated basement entrance door was installed. Safety was prioritized with the addition of modern, black metal railings secured to the new concrete.
The final phase involved side yard restoration and landscaping, transforming a neglected pathway. The area around the walk-up was graded and finished with decorative gravel and large concrete pavers leading to a newly sodded lawn strip, creating a clean, high-end, and functional side entrance that enhances the property’s value.
